Hyrule Historia is the story campaign of Hyrule: Total War, composed of linear Missions interspersed with animated cutscenes.
Ancient Age (10000 BG - 3000 BG)[]
The Ancient Era takes place many centuries before the rise of Ganon and the birth of the first Princess Zelda. This part of the Hyrule Historia campaign follows the fledgeling Kingdom of Akkala as they battle a power-hungry Sage, crusading Darknuts, and the Moblin deity known as Demise. The fate of Ikana and the origin of Hylia is also revealed.

Rise of Ganon (1 BG - 1 AG)[]
After countless generations of Moblin slaughter started by the Akkalans of antiquity, and perpetrated by the Kingdom of Hyrule, one powerful warlord strikes back at his kin's oppressors and seeks their ancient golden power. This part of the Hyrule Historia campaign follows Ganon's uprising, making many allies and enemies, and the first ever Princess Zelda, avenging her kingdom and keeping the Triforce of her people safe. However, darker forces are also at play, biding their time in the shadows.

The Realm of Twilight[]
While Hyrule knows peace for a short while, those defeated in the Interloper War are sent to a different world where they begin a new life, changing to adapt to this new mysterious land. However, the delicate peace created by the Great Fairies is broken with the rise of King Mizorant, conspiring with higher powers. This part of the Hyrule Historia campaign follows Zant, taking back what's rightfully his birthright from Midna and unifying the Realm of Twilight under his rule.
