Guardians are recruited from the civilian population during times of war to defend the Goron homeland of Death Mountain. Armed with nothing but their fists, Goron Guardians were nonetheless rather durable and strong for their size and could take on armoured enemies. Lacking weapons and armor, the Guardians are able to curl themselves up and roll at fast speeds to reach critical areas much more swiftly than their brothers.
