Eldara, known as Semnar in the ancient past, is a settlement in Ordona Province, built atop an ancient Ikanian settlement. It is located on the border of the Ikana Canyons, roughly 15 miles southeast of Nal Ordona.

History[]

Originally the Ikanian City of Semnar, it was the road into the Ikana Canyons. In the modern ags it has also become a symbolic gate of life into death, as it is the boundary between the lush Ordona and the harsh wastelands inside the Ikana Canyons. During the fall of Ikana into Civil War started in 2993 BG, its people chose inaction, fading away into either death or obscurity. However, to fade away in silence is to become one with the world again, and thus the land did not die. Like Malcove and Meesium, it would escape the curse that afflicted the rest of the Ikanian homeland, remaining fertile.

In 2384 BG, King Rhogim Nohansen V took the throne of the Kingdom of Hyrule, and would be known as Rhogim the Wise, ushering in an era of prosperity and reform until his death in 2287 BG. During his reign, numerous House Nohansen vassal Houses left their holdings in Hyrule Field and Lake Hylia to settle the Plains of Ordona. The ruins of Semnar were rediscovered and eventually resettled as Eldara, a ranch town hosting goat herds that graze the foothills of Mt. Hylia. Under the control of Ordona Province, it's the primary base of the Ordonian Rangers. Sojourns into the cursed lands to the south bring back the horns of Ison Beetles, which are prized as musical instruments, as well as the cursed blue metal of Ikanian weapons, favored by Rangers as crossbow tips. Not much Ikanian remains aside from some ceremonial columned gates.
